Spring 2019 - Whitney Biennial, NY

Mark Newgarden collaborated with exhibitor Nicole Eisenman and painter Patrick Piggot to create “Maximum Choke” a Wacky Package-like sticker designed to protest Whitney vice chairman Warren P. Kanders’ tear gas product. The stickers premiered guerilla-style at the May 14th Biennial opening, and later as part of an organized protest they were distributed to the public outside the museum. Kanders resigned from the Whitney board on July 25, 2019.
